If she can do it, I can do it
So today I went to the gym and started on the eliptical... all the regular elipticals were full so I had to do what I like to call, "the hard eliptical". I don't know why these are so much harder, but they are, and I hate them. But anyway... So Im on the eliptical sweating my ass off and in front of me is a huge black women. She must have been over 300 pounds, just running away. Not a fast run by any means, but running. So I did a 15 minute warm up on the eliptical, went and did abs and legs on the weight machines and then came back to the cardio section to do a really short run and walk to cool down and end my work out. When I got back, the black lady was STILL running. The only treadmill that was open was next to her. I looked at her screen (i hate when people do that but I was so proud of this lady I had to look) and she had run over 3 miles!!! GOOD FOR HER!!! She was sweating to death and was completely out of breath but never once did she stop - and she had a lot more weight to carry than both of us combined. So Ethel (thats what Ive named her in my head) if you can run that far, so can I. I have recently been running again but am only at 2 miles so I am using Ethel as my inspiration!!! Here is hoping for a 3 mile run this week.... just not tomorrow because Mondays are for spinning =)

OK, I'm sore!
So I woke up today with the SORE-EST shins!!! This could be from 1 of 2 reasons:
1. I ran on a treadmill for the first time yesterday. I've gotten in the habit of the eliptical cause it burns calories quicker but I've really been missing running so yesterday I ran 2 miles for the first time in a very very long time. It felt GREAT!!! I really miss running and can't wait for spring to be able to run outside on Kelly Drive (hopefully the weather is nice enough for us to get a run in on Kelly Drive while you guys are here cause its a great road to run on!)
2. Hiding in a box. Ok, so this one may take a little background information. At work we have a Child Life office that all the Child Life Specialist share. However, this office is on the 8th floor and the Emergency Room is on the first floor so we never had a chance to get up there (especially with how busy the ER is all the time) so the ER child life specialists were given a "touch down space" in the ER. This consists of one desk and one computer that the 7 of us share that just happens to be in a med room. Nice? very. Strange? very. This same med room is also where the "ER supply" guys desk is - basically the guys who are in charge of ordering EVERYTHING that the ER needs (cot mattresses, ortho supplies, etc). As a result there are always lots of boxes in our little "office". So on Wednesday we had this horrible patient (17yo) who came in drugged and flipped out on staff - hitting, punching, spitting, etc. After they sedated him (had to for their safety) staff was all pissed and shook up about this. Emily thought, "huh... something needs to be done to lighten the mood of this place". As a side note, the ER is ALWAYS joking around - 'scrubs' has nothing on the jokes, etc that we make/play on one another at work - its how we cope with the shitty stuff we see everyday. So there just so happen to be a very large box (empty in the med room at this time). So I thought, "Huh I bet I could fit in that box and jump out when Dana (one of the techs Im friends with) walks in". So I went ahead and climbed in the box... and when she walked in I jumped out and screamed. HILARIOUS. However, then this turned into people wanting me to scare everyone individually so everyone kept telling me to stay in the box and would individually walky (we wear walkie talkies) person by person to come into the med room. So for about an hour Wednesday and AGAIN yesterday I was in a box crouched in a pitchers position awaiting people to come into the med room to scare... probably one of the funniest weeks at work - never seen so many people about to piss their pants!!!! One of my nurse friends literally fell onto the ground , got up, and screamed "what the fuck is wrong with you!" at me. Then it became a huge story with patients... I was walking down the hall and a nurse was telling a patient, "so this girl has been hiding in a box in our med room for an hour scaring everyone who walks in..." However, my legs are killing me from crouching in the box waiting for people!!!! I couldn't rest on my knees cause I wouldn't be able to pop up quick enough =) So.. long story short.. how sad is it that Im sore from freaking hiding in a box?!?!?!?! But yes, oh so completely sore!!! But hilarious all at the same time!! I really do love my job! hahahaha
ANyway, this has probably been the most pointless post Ive made to date... but hopefully it made you laugh a bit, picturing me at work hiding in a box.

Happy Hump Day!
Hey pretty lady! So I got a work out in today - about 40 mins. Apparently my workout yesterday was better than I thought b/c I was sore today. So along w/my work out, I also got in basically an entire loaf of Italian bread and olive oil, salad, chicken marsala and lemon cookies! Mmmm birthday dinner! I'm so full right now I could throw up, I literally had to stop laying on my stomach b/c it was hurting! Ha, what a fatty!!
Thanks for all my bday love today! I can not wait to see you in 29 days! Ahhh, booked the flight home, I guess just saying is out of the question now... booo. Your mom texted me - cutest thing ever!
I had a training today and we actually got 1 1/2 hours for lunch which is unheard of... I usually have like 20 mins. So the office the training was in is right by West County mall. Yea, I didn't even eat lunch I just shopped instead :) I had brought a shit ton of fruit w/me and had been snacking on it all am - so I went w/starbucks and shopping instead. Good decision!
We just got home from dinner and I called my dad b/c he's called me like 4 times today. I told him Johnny got me a massage and he said, "yea I heard that, I was hoping for a ring." Me too dad, me too. So then he told me to tell 'that non-ring buying SOB hi.' I love my dad! Johnny just laughed, glad he has a sense of humor about it!
So, this post has barely anything to do w/working out and it's a hot mess of rambling - I think I'm in a food coma. Sorry. OMG, I almost forgot... my Wii told me happy birthday today! How sweet was that?! Love it.
Funny joke I heard today:
A blonde texts her friend: 'what does IDK mean?'
Friend replies: 'I don't know.'
Blonde replies: 'OMG, nobody does!'
Ha ha ha!!! I laughed out loud, not gonna lie.

30 DaYs!!!! (7 mins til my Philly bday)
Alright, first of all I realize that it was 7 mins when I started this post and now I wanna type really fast so this is posted before my actual Philly bday!
So long story short...
hour and 20 min work out - it was good, but not amazing... still am not where I was as far as endurance goes. I was sore today but not like I wanted to be - so ditto!
I went to din din w/college girls for my bday - didn't over indulge, but it's always hard when someone else is cooking. Had a mini bag of skittles today and an emily size (aka fun size) 3 musketeer bar today. Gotta get better w/the junk food - that's where I'm lacking the most this time around!
If this isn't posted before my Philly bday it's b/c I had to go to the kitchen to see how to spell musketeer!

Not too shabby
Went back to the gym this morning... woke up and I wasn't even too sore (which is both a good thing and pisses me off - part of me likes being sore because I know I made some progress the day before). I did 3 miles on the eliptical and then did some leg weights. I really pushed myself on the leg weights because these new jeans I bought would be much cuter without my ginormous thighs so thats my new target spot. haha. (however the new jeans I bought are a size I havent worn in a very long time so YAY!) I am convinced stores have just stretched their pants/sizes and all this is a figment of my imagination because my weight on the scale hasn't really changed a whole lot. But whatever, I'll take whatever improvement I can get =)
We are at exactly 30 days to lose 4 pounds!!!! I think we can both do it. I am contemplating some sort of punishment (i.e. a rubber band to snap if I think about going to the gift shop at the hospital to get my daily chocolate fix!) haha. I need something to motivate me -- as I sit here drinking a delicious cup of coffee and eat pancakes (although I skipped the butter and syrup!) Ha ha.
Alright.. Im going to stop rambling now and get ready for work. Have a good work out tonight and see you in a month!!!

Done and done!
Well, against my will... I went to spinning tonight. Funny enough, I had a very similar experience as you. I decided that I was going to make this one as difficult as my first spinning class... so I just kept increasing the resistance. It was hard for sure! I felt good too finishing, I'm really tired/crampy today - so not as good as I'd like to have felt. But proud of myself none the less. I'm right there w/you, I'm just happy to be back in the game. It's been too long! I wanna be down 4 or 5 by our trip too! We'll see :) xoxo
Here we go again...
Today I went back to the gym for the first time in a VERY long time... I spun and spun and spun until I could spin no more.. and it felt 100% fabulous!!! It really just felt so great to sweat again and to work on getting some of the strength back that I am sure I lost somewhere during the sickies and blizzard. I was actually proud of myself at how hard I was able to push myself my first day back.... we shall see how bad I ache tomorrow and see if I am really as happy then as I am right now =)
But at least I've started back... I feel actually getting out of bed and going as the jump start I needed to get back to being serious about this. I am setting a goal for 4 more pounds by the time you guys get to Philly!!! 31 days to go!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee.

Double Ugh
AWE so sorry that you feel crappy!!! I am slowly starting to feel a bit better... not great by any means.. still have a sore throat and NO energy but feeling overall less crappy. Needless to say, I have NOT made it to the gym - which has been a combination of the two feet of snow on the ground and feeling like poo. Which, I dont know when I am going to get back to the gym because tomorrow night into Wednesday we are supposed to get another 18-24 inches of snow. WTF!!! Where does 2 feet of snow go when there is already 27 inches on the ground!!!! So thinking I am going to have to use some time off for these next two days since the hospital (and ER especially) can't close because of snow. womp womp. Makes me sick to have to use my time to be stranded in my apt instead of playing with you guys.... which, I should still have enough time for a long weekend - just means Im not going to make it to all the 6 (yes 6) weddings between May and August this year.
I feel like my life is just hanging in limbo right now.... still dont know my schedule, roomie still hasnt been able to move in because of the snow already on the ground (and with the additional 2 feet coming). Life is a waiting game right now...
PS: As bad as it may be for you... made me REALLY jealous you had Imos for lunch!!!! You better have enjoyed that shit!!!! mmm mmmm so jealous.
Hope you can stay awake for BBT.. I hear its a new one and we havent had a BBT date in a long time.... but if you can't I of course completely understand (I went to bed at 10 last night and woke up at 9:30 this morning... and took a nap later in the day!)

Apparently you sent me virtual germs! I am feeling like poo. I worked out Friday, but not Sat or yesterday. Not doing spinning tonight b/c I think my throat might explode! Booo. Not only am I not spinning b/c I feel crappy... but I said at school all day (probably a bad decision) and got convinced to have Imo's for lunch. What?! Who eats pizza for lunch? Um not me, I eat turkey sandwiches and carrots for lunch. So, I ate crap yesterday when I was getting my heart broken by Peyton, and then pizza for lunch and God is punishing me by making me sick and saying 'ha ha, now you can't work out.' Ya know, b/c God is spiteful and all, right? Whatever, laying around and gonna try to stay up for Sheldon but can't make any promises. Hope you're feeling better or are well on your way. XOXO

2 + feet of snow....
whoops guess that means I can't drive to the gym... darn!
haha. In all seriousness, probably wouldnt go anyway.. I barely made it to work and Im sitting here now hoping and praying public transit is still running just to get me home AND in the meantime I just started feeling like absolute poo. I think I am getting sick and not one bit happy about it..

Really, it's not Friday yet?!?
Is it just me or is this week DRAGGING on?!? I have felt like it should be Friday since Tuesday! So I'm glad I did some yoga yesterday, b/c I'm not doing shit tonight!!
I got off work to a parking ticket on my car... apparently they sweep the streets in front of my school on Thursdays, didn't know that. $15 for nothing
Had a hair appointment @ 5... get there and it's dark and locked up. Apparently I was supposed to be going to the south county salon, not the soulard one. 1 hr driving time, wasted.
Got home and decided that I was only working out if my weigh in said I gained... was down 1.3 lbs - done and done, not working out.
Also not doing ANYTHING! Reading my book, cooking some dinner and calling it an evening. Just one of those nights. Cramping and feelin my monthly crabby day!

Ladies Night...
Hey pretty lady! So I was semi-good tonight. I went ahead and did 40 mins of yoga before dinner. It sounds better than it actually is though, just about 100 calories or so.
Then I went to dinner...
Not gonna lie, first and probably the last time I go to the Melting Pot. It was like $50 for finger foods. We had an app of cheese and dippers, salad that was just alright, and then the main course. Call me uppidy, call me OCD, whatever you call me... not a fan of cooking my own meat at a resturant. Have you ever been? You have to cook your own meat on skewers... not a fan. Then we had dessert which was obviously chocolate fondue - one milk choc and the other one turtle. We got a plate w/bananas, strawberries, breaded marshmellows, brownies, pound cake, rice crispy treats, you name it! I wasn't GOOD, but I definitely wasn't as bad as I could have been! On a ladies night, I'm proud of myself. I'm back in the zone - ready to be good!
Well... minus the 3 glasses of wine of course, those were a must!

Almost hump day...
Hey lady!
can I just say I am sooo super impressed with how long your work outs are getting!!! So happy for you. YAY YOU! Mine are definitely slacking... I just need to get freaking moved so I stop worrying about doing 9489238493 other things before work besides work out.
Today I woke up at 9, had a small bowl of cheerios, went to IKEA, bought an enormously heavy desk (in box) and some other random things (i heart ikea) and then had to manuever this big old freaking heavy box into the back of my jeep (im sure anyone who was watching me found it extremely comical) then went straight to the gym then came home and put all the little stuff away in my new apt, then went to my old apt to shower, eat a bigger breakfast, and get ready for work, then went to the post office to mail a bunch of stuff, then started my 11 hour shift. Eating dinner now (subway turkey, no cheese, all the veggies, on wheat) hummus, and crackers, and grapes. Whew.. felt like that was one really really long run on sentence.
My point being.. I just need to be freaking moved so my mornings look a little more like, "sleep, work out, breakfast, work" without all that other crap in there.
Anywho I think I am going to take tomorrow morning off so I can get this huge box out of my jeep (yes it came with me to work cause I ran out of time and energy this morning) into my new apartment and actually sleep in. Wednesdays are my rough turn-around days. Meaning Tuesdays I work the LATE night shift and Wednesdays I work the EARLY night shift. So I get home from work at 2am (if Im lucky) and have to leave to be back for work by noon. I have been working out on those days, but its pretty difficult given I only have 10 hours to sleep, shower, eat a meal, and work out...
Anyway... I think this blog was really just a whole lot of rambling that made no since. I feel like I am always constantly rushing around.. Even at work I walk so fast people always laugh at me... like my new "about me" I added today.. I need to learn to relax and just chill...
Ok, now im done.

It's really hard though :) I hope you've had a happy Tuesday - I'm sure it's been hectic and busy w/the move and trying to cram everything in + work! You're a super star pretty lady, you can do it!
Happy 1 year Philly anniversary! Apparently it took you moving across the state for us to communicate daily!! Of all the things I hate about Philly, I kinda like that one.

Thank goodness for blog and BBT!
What a day, what a day, what a day! Today was just a terribly exhausting - which seems to be a commonality between our days. Couldn't get out of bed this am, then had an unexpected meeting and one of our aides not show up - ugh! One of our kids cried and yelled all day AND, AND pooped his pants! Probably why he was crying, this is why we teach him to use his fricking words!
In my top 5 things that I didn't want to do tonight, #1 would be have been spinning! So, to motivate myself I went to the Galleria after work and got a pair of jeans I've been eye-ing for awhile... oh, you'd LOVE them! They're from the Cardinal store, they have the StL logo on the ass pockets! Then, I went and got my nails repainted with a little Peyton Manning Blue.
Spinning KICKED MY ASS!!!!! Our original instructor had a sub and she was amazing. It was probably the best work out I've ever had. Burned a ton of calories and sweat my ass off! I didn't give in though, I definitely pushed myself and I felt good afterward.
One uh-oh is that my knees have really been bothering me the last few days. I think between the lunges/squats/running yesterday and then spinning today - ugh! I had to ice my knees tonight, felt like a total old lady! Now I have a shit load of work to do and no time to do it! Ugh, IEP @ 9 am and am not even close to 1/2 to done! Booo!

Mondays are for Spinning
Happy Monday dearie!!!
I went to spinning this morning... was much better as far as resistance goes! I really worked up a sweat this class... could definitely tell I had improved from my first time. However, there are still some people in the class whose form is amazing and makes me look like a total clutz half the time.
Then I spent the rest of the day moving all my "stupid crap" as I call it... all the nic naks off shelves, all my clothes (minus a few work outfits) bathroom crap (that I won't need until Friday) and dishes, mugs, cups, etc. Since all my big stuff is still here I feel like I did absolutely NOTHING today... yet am completely and utterly exhausted. Oh so many trips up and down the elevator with a big cart of boxes!
Then I was really bad and had pizza for dinner... I NEVER eat pizza and have had it so much lately it makes me want to vomit.
Anyway... I LOVE spinning mondays!!! What a great way to start the week =)
