New Year, Day 1

So today it my first day because last week I was depressed and busy and all those other things the surround coming back into town after an amazing 10 days off.

So today I went to the gym and ran 30 minutes... Can I just say how easy it was? Mind you, I had it on a bit slower than I usually do but after not running for over a month I thought I was gonna die, but nope. Felt amazing. Then made up a little resistance band/free weight/plank circuit and did each 3 times... which lasted about 30 minutes. It felt really really good to work out again. Hopefully by this time next week my pants will fit again.

I think tomorrow I am going to TRY to wake up early and get a good work out in before work :) Every article I keep reading talks about how much better it is for you to work out in the morning and I think I am going to while my apt still has a gym in my building. Enjoy it while I can.

Fun fact: I have a new favorite app!!! It's called Calorie Count and it was FREEEEE. Seriously, though I absolutely love it. So, its basically a scale (think lawyer scale not weight scale.. though it has that too) and a pie chart. The scale balances out what you do activity wise and your calories consumed (it always starts with 1000 and something calories so Im assuming thats the average burned in a day with someone with my age, height and weight but not completely sure). And then everytime you eat something you enter it, and every time you do activity you enter it and your scale keeps moving based on how your doing for the day. It literally has EVERYTHING. Once you start typing what you ate it brings up all the brand names of it, etc. and then you just adjust the portion size you ate. On the activity part it also has everything... even grocery shopping (yes I checked after yesterday!).
Then the pie chart shows how much carbs, proteins, etc you consumed for the day... I really like this because I like knowing, "hey im hungry (....insert me looking at pie chart) I haven't had any protein today, maybe Ill make a hard boiled egg white" Or "hey Ive had all carbs today... let me eat a vegetable". THEN at the end of the day it gives you a grade (A, B+, C-, etc).
Anyway, so far I really really like it and highly recommend it..
I just started yesterday and yesterday I got an A and today a B+ (which i think is because I had a bagel and cream cheese and coffee at church.... the scale and pie chart did not approve of that). Oh and it also monitors how much water you are drinking :)

Overall, great FREE App. Get it.

Back to working out, back to blogging.... its going to be a good week :)
